PCC baseball travels to Cowley College for a mid-week matchup

Pratt Community College traveled to Arkansas City, Kan. for a single game against Cowley College. The Beavers faced Cowley in a tightly contested game. Cowley took the lead in the fifth inning and added two runs in the sixth and eighth to hold on to the win. PCC falls 6-9.

The Blue and White came out swinging and took a quick 2-0 lead. Over the next three innings, Cowley tied Pratt in the second and took the lead with three runs in the third. The Beavers chipped away at the lead with two runs in the fourth. With bases loaded in the fifth inning, Darrian Aldridge hit a single to center to bring two runs home and give PCC a 6-5 lead. The lead would not last as Cowley reclaimed the lead with two runs in the fifth. Pratt could not mount a comeback as Cowley added a run in the sixth and a run in the eighth to secure the win.

Trace Maddux led the Beavers at the plate against Cowley. Maddux finished the game going three for four with an RBI. Ashton Roy and Aldridge had the most RBI's for Pratt with two each. Aldridge ended the game going one for three at bat. Roy went one for four.

PCC baseball returns to Stanion Field to begin the first part of a four game series against Cloud County Community College on March 15. First pitch of the double header is set for 1 p.m. with Game 2 starting around 4 p.m.
