PCC softball wraps up home stand against Butler CC

Pratt Community College softball closed out their six game home stand with a double header against Butler Community College. Game 1 saw Butler gain an early lead. The pitching and defense of Butler held the Beavers hitless and secured the win. Pratt loses Game 1 0-14. Game 2 turned into a defensive battle. Butler took a slim lead in the first inning. The Blue and White came back in the fourth inning tying the game at 1-1. Runs for Butler in the fifth and seventh innings gave the edge Butler needed to take Game 2. PCC falls 1-3 in Game 2.

While Game 1 was a struggle at the plate for the Blue and White, in the circle Kelie Byers and Ariana Perales highlighted the game for Pratt. The two limited the long ball and combined for four strikeouts.  

In Game 2, Lyndsey Loomis and Katie Otto led the Beavers at the plate. Otto went one for two at the plate with a run. Loomis finished the game one for three at bat with an RBI bringing Otto home. In the circle, Kaylan Garcia got three strikeouts against Butler.

PCC softball begins a six game road trip with a double header against Garden City Community College on March 17. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. with the second game starting around 3 p.m.
