PCC baseball closes out series with Butler CC

Pratt Community College baseball traveled to El Dorado, Kan. to finish their four-game series with Butler Community College. The Beavers gave up runs to Butler in the third inning of game three. PCC rallied with runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but the rally came up short. PCC falls in the third game in the series 4-5. In the fourth game, Butler took an early lead. Pratt took the lead by scoring five runs through the first six innings. A late rally by Butler allowed them to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth and take the lead in the bottom of the eighth. PCC drops a close game 4, 5-7.  

Elerie Rivera led the Blue and White from the plate in game 3. Rivera hit three for four with two runs. Trace Maddux finished the game one for four with an RBI. Gage Axline batted one for two with a run. Kenneth Gonzalez and Eric Escamilla both batted one for three with a run. On the mound, Zach Ponce came in relief for four strike outs while giving up one hit and one walk.

The final game of the series saw Rivera continue his strong performance at the plate. He finished two for six with a pair of runs and an RBI. Axline also went two for six at bat with an RBI. Ashton Roy ended the game going two for four with a run and an RBI. Dalton Huggins led the Blue and White on the mound with five strike outs while allowing three walks.

PCC baseball travels to Hesston, Kan. for a matchup with Hesston College on March 27. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
