PCC softball battles Barton CC in Great Bend

Pratt Community College softball traveled to Great Bend, Kan. for a midweek KJCCC double header against Barton Community College. The Beavers battled in both games, but a pair of high scoring innings by Barton in the first game and in the second game gave the Cougars a lead Pratt could not rally to take. PCC falls in both games, 3-11 in game 1 and 2-17 in game 2.

The Beavers got on the board first in game 1 thanks to a home run by Lyndsey Loomis. However, Barton had high scoring innings in the third and the sixth to take lead and the win.

In game one, Marisa Jonas and Tymarra Bryant led the Blue and White at the plate. Jonas batted two for three with a pair of runs. Bryant also hit two for three with an RBI. Loomis rounded out the hitting for Pratt in game one. She finished one for two with a run and an RBI.

Pratt faced a hard hitting Barton team in the second game. Barton took an early lead in the first inning. The Beavers mounted some runs in the fourth inning off a double by Loomis, but could not continue with the rally.

Loomis and Bryant continued to try and spark the PCC offense in game 2. Loomis ended the game one for two with two RBIs. Bryant batted one for two with a run. Makenzie Anderson, Taylor Schuller, and Kelie Byers each got a hit.
