Someone told me that the Beavers were fast... AND THEY WERE RIGHT! Pratt Community College’s Track and Field Program has been having a great season. Multiple members of their team have etched their names in the school’s record books and there is still more to come!
Tavares Duckett, a highly talented sprinter, qualified for nationals in the 200m with a 20.89 second time. That is the 3rd all time on PCC’s record book. On Saturday, at the KT Woodman Invitational, he broke the school record for the 100m with a time of 10.19 seconds. The previous record had been held by Olie Anderson. Anderson set his record in 1983. Duckett took 3rd overall at the meet.
The Men’s 4x4, Daniel Amparan, Andre Baker, Jaden Sawyers, and JaMauri Brooks-Davis, qualified for nationals with a time of 3:15.48. They finished 2nd at the KT Woodman Invitational.
Some other record-breaking performances this season have come from Vivica Paulhill and Aiden Skiles. Vivica Paulhill set the Women’s Indoor record in the weight throw with an 11.01m performance. Aiden Skiles set the Men’s Outdoor school record in the Heptathlon with 4406 points. Aiden also holds the Men’s outdoor javelin record, which he set in 2024. He will be aiming to break his own record this season.
