PCC Hires New Women's Track Coach

PCC Hires New Women's Track Coach

Pratt Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Philip Redrick! Coach Redrick will be joining the Beavers as the head women’s track and field coach. Current coach Quintin Powell will be the Men’s Track and Field coach.

For the past 4 ½ years Coach Redrick has been at Fort Scott.  During that time, he won 9 conference championships, 1 regional championship, had 125 all-Americans, 85 athletes go to Division 1 schools, and coached a 4x4 relay team to a national championship. He was named Coach of the Year 3 times.

He ran professionally before he began his coaching career. He believes that his experience as a professional helps him coach and mentor his athletes in an effective way.

At Pratt, he is excited about the opportunity to build a strong program. His experience at Fort Scott, building the #1 sprinting program in the country gives him confidence and he is “here prove [he] can do it again.” Talking about PCC and it’s culture, Coach Redrick said, “I see this program heading to new heights. I have an AD that supports me and has my back. He cares about the student athlete and winning. With people that care, the program has no limits to what it can do.”

About the hire, Coach Powell said, “We are excited to have Coach Redrick here because he brings a lot of experience in the KJCCC and has had a lot of success. With national titles in relays, lots of all-Americans and his great ability to recruit, especially in the DFW area, we expect him to bring in a lot of great athletes to help represent PCC.”

The athletics department at Pratt is excited to welcome Coach Redrick! Join us in celebrating this great hire!
