Coach Andre Morris enters his first year as the Assistant Track & Field, Cross Country Coach at Pratt Community College.

Previously, Coach Morris spent 4 years as the Assistant Track & Field, Cross Country Coach at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While with the Golden Eagles, Coach Morris helped lead the sprinters to an extremely successful year in 2020, helping student-athletes achieve six top-10 all-time marks, three freshmen records, and two school records during the 2019-20 indoor season. Freshman sprinter finished as the runner-up at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in the men's 200m with a time of 21.78, which is the No. 2 mark all-time in program history. He also set the No. 2 mark all-time in the 400m in program history (48.24). Andre had three athlete break the 7 second barrier in the Men’s 60 - (6.80), (6.82) (6.86) setting the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 marks all-time at Marquette in the 60-meter dash. Another also set the school record in the 400m with a time of 47.98. On the women's side, he helped guide an athlete to an excellent sophomore season as she set the No. 4 mark all-time in the 400m (55.96) and twice was named a BIG EAST Notable Performer in its weekly awards.

As an athlete Andre competed for The University of Iowa from 1994 to 1996. He was a 3 x NCAA All American in the 400m (3rd place, 1995) and 4x400m (4th place, 1995) and in 1996 placed 5th in the 4x400. The 4 x Big Ten champion (400m, 200m and 4x100, 400m) also competed internationally for Team USA in the World University Games, US Olympic Festival Track Team and the IAAF World Indoor Championships, where his 4 x 400 set the American and World Indoor Record of 3:02.83. Andre’s professional career with his Sponsor FILA also included 2 Olympic Trials and 4 Indoor / Outdoor National Championships.

Prior to Hutchinson Community College 1991 to 1993 Andre was a NJCAA All American in the 200m, setting the school record.

As a high school student-athlete, Coach Morris was a standout athlete in football and track and field at Russellville High School (Russellville, KY) from 1987 to 1991. While with the Panthers he was a State Champion in the 400m and 4x400m relay, as well as State runner in the 400m, 200, and 4x100m relay. Andre was a blue-chip all-American in football.

Coach Morris holds an Associate’s Degree in Art from Hutchinson Community College (Kansas), a Bachelors of Art from The University of Iowa and holds personal records of 44.89 (400) and 20.46 (200). Andre had the pleasure of competing all over the United Sates and the world including Japan, Africa, France and Italy.
