The 2023-24 school year will be Jeret Johnson's 3rd season at Pratt community College as the head tennis coach. 

In the fall of 2021, PCC reinstated tennis with Johnson at the helm. With Coach Jeret’s guidance, PCC has produced consecutive seasons with top 10 national finishes. The 2021-22 season produced a 9th place finish at nationals while the 22-23 season produced a 10th place finish. The 2022-23 season the men's tennis program achieved their best ranking of 6th in the nation in March and April. 

Since being named the head coach, Coach Jeret has stressed the importance of the term “student- athlete.” In the past two seasons, the average GPA in 2021-22 was 3.33 while the 22-23 saw an average GPA of 3.74 (the second highest tennis team in the nation). 

Johnson most recently was an assistant at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. FAU saw their highest division 1 national team ranking to date (46). Johnson was instrumental in recruiting, on-court strategy and logistics involved with running the program. 

Johnson is originally from Larned, Ks. The Kansan's collegiate career began at Barton County Community College, where the team placed 11th in the nation his sophomore year and was an academic all American both years. He eventually transferred to Fort Hays State where he began his coaching career as a student assistant. 

Johnson’s other collegiate coaching stops include stints at the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Army at West Point. While In New York Johnson was an in-house tennis pro at Highlands Country Club in Garrison, NY, and a tennis pro at Kickingbird Tennis Center while in Edmond, Ok. 

Johnson Graduated from Fort Hays State University with a 3.94 GPA, Earning a bachelor of science in health and human performance. He is certified by Professional Tennis Registry, Professional Pickleball Registry and United States Professional Tennis Association.
