Pratt Cheer wins National Runner-Up at NCA Competition

The Pratt cheer team competed at the National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals this past week April 5-9 in Daytona Beach, Fl. This was the third time the team had competed in this event while this was their first year competing in the Intermediate Large Coed Open division. Before competing in this event, the cheer team won the Region VI Intermediate Large Coed Championship back on March 5.  

The Beavers competed in Florida against Tyler Junior College, Riverside City College, Long Beach City College, and Tafts University. After the preliminary competition on Thursday, April 6th they sat in 2second place only .30 points behind the leader. After their final competition on Friday, April 7th they finished as the National Runner-Up in their division at the NCA competition for the second time in three years. Last season, they finished third in their division.  

The team is busy recruiting for next year's team and will begin their 2023-24 season in July by attending a NCA Summer Camp looking for their fourth straight time qualifying for the NCA College Nationals.
