Charles Keefer Named Head eSports Coach

Pratt, Kan. – Pratt Community College (PCC) is excited to announce the hiring of Charles Keefer as the new Head eSports Coach. Keefer currently serves as the Sports Information Director on campus and will remain in that role with the addition of these new responsibilities. Former Head eSports Coach Chris Nelson will remain on campus as a full-time faculty member in the INT department.

“I am truly excited to have Charles become our eSports coach,” remarked PCC Athletic Director Tim Swartzendruber. “Charles has a passion for eSports and has already been involved with the program. Charles has been a loyal employee here at Pratt and I believe this is a great fit for him and for our athletic department. We appreciate all Chris Nelson did with our program and are happy he will continue at PCC.”

Keefer joined Beaver Nation in April 2017 as the Director of Students and Residence Life. He served in this position until September 2021 when he transitioned into his current role. In March, Keefer started serving as the Volunteer Assistant eSports Coach helping with recruitment and marketing of the program.

“I want to thank Dr. Calvert and Tim Swartzendruber for allowing me this opportunity to lead the eSports program,” said Coach Keefer. “I am excited for the future of the program and to provide opportunities for students to play competitive video games while achieving their academic goals.”

Coach Keefer resides in Pratt with his dogs Cosmo and Murry. In his free time he enjoys playing video games, watching tv shows, movies, and sports.
