Pratt Basketball Hosting First "School Service Day" This Weekend

PRATT, Kan.- The Pratt Community College campus isn't quite bustling just yet, considering the bulk of its students have yet to return from the holiday break. However, the stands will still full this weekend.

The first of four "School Service Day" events will take place on Saturday, January 4 when men and women's basketball kicks off the spring semester with a doubleheader against conference foe Neosho County Community College. Coach Ishee's women's team will tip-off the first of two games at 2 PM, with the men's game taking place immediately afterwards. The event is designed to recognize students, faculty, and staff from the communities surrounding Pratt, giving those associated with area schools the opportunity to see the Beavers at no cost.

"I am excited to begin recognizing our service area schools," said athletic director Tim Swartzendruber. "At PCC, we take great pride in working with our service schools.  We hope to see a good number of attendees from these districts.  A big thank you to our game sponsors, we couldn't have done this without you."

The three school districts to be admitted for free on Saturday include Stafford County USD 349, Macksville USD 351, and Kiowa County USD 422. The presenting sponsors for the event are Quivira Insurance, Mid-Kansas Tire, Stafford Lumber, and RAMA Operating Company on behalf of Stafford County, Country Store, Nutrien Ag Solutions, and Stafford County Flour Mill on behalf of Macksville County, and Heft and Sons LLC, Haviland State Bank, and Haviland Broadband on behalf of Kiowa County.
