Men's basketball scores at will against Dodge City

PRATT, Kan.- Well, if one lopsided score is good, one more must be better, right? After watching the women run away with a win against the visiting Conquistadors, the men made their mark on Sophomore Night, scoring an in-conference high 114 points in a 41-point win over Dodge City.

Having been in double-figures for four-consecutive games, freshman Tommy Thomas stole the show on Sophomore Night, stretching his streak to five games. Thomas scored a career-high 28 points on a stellar 11-18 shooting (61 percent), as his point total was largely attributed to his success from behind the three-point line. Thomas was 6-8 from deep, also setting a career-high in the category. Sophomores Zool Kueth, Jamel Horton and Deontae Davis all finished the night in double-figures, as Kueth and Horton both posted 21 points, and Davis ending his night with 18.

Harrison Eghan snatched a game-high 14 rebounds, while Julian Eziukwu grabbed 12 of his own. The two combined for 11 of Pratt's 20 offensive rebounds.

The Beavers rolled in all facets of the game, shooting nearly 54 percent from the field (43-80), and just a tick over 48 percent from long range (18-37). Pratt owned the real estate beneath the rim, outrebounding the Conquistadors 50-24, and 20-10 in terms on the offensive end.

The Beavers dictated the pace of the game early, jumping out on a quick 15-4 run over the first four minutes of the first-half, eventually extending the lead to 19 at the halftime break, up 54-35. The second-half became a laser show for Pratt, as the Beavers shot 61 percent (23-38), and 67 percent from beyond the arc (10-15).

Now 19-10 overall and 13-7 in conference play, the Beavers will travel to Colby to play the division-leading Trojans on Saturday, February 22. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 PM.
