MBB falls to #8 Coffeyville on the road

COFFEYVILLE, Kan.- The Beavers felt every bit of the punching power of the eighth-ranked team in the nation, losing to Coffeyville 91-58.

Malcolm Whitlow has quickly become the Beavers go-to guy on offense, scoring 21 points on 6-11 attempts (54%). He has scored at least 21 points in both of his games in a Pratt uniform. Harrison Eghan was the other Beaver to finish in double-figures, scoring 14 points on 6-10 (60%), while also snatching 10 rebounds.

The Beavers struggled on the offensive end of the floor, making only 21 of 56 field goal attempts (21-56). That number from three-point range was also subpar, as Pratt was 7-27 from deep (26%). Coffeyville dominated the glass, ourebounding Pratt 48-27, including 17-6 in terms of offensive rebounds. The Red Ravens were the beneficiaries of many more whistles, as the Beavers were hit with 31 foul calls to Coffeyville's 16.

The end of the first-half saw a much tighter score, where the Coffeyville led at the halftime break 35-32. The Red Ravens pulled away over the course of the final 20 minutes, outscoring the Beavers 56-26.

Men's basketball returns on Wednesday for a 7:30 pm tip-off on the road at Neosho County.
