MBB bested by Grizzlies 91-60

PRATT, Kan.- After watching their female counterparts fall to Butler, the men's attempt at salvaging one of the two games this evening was denied by a solid Grizzlies team, as the Beavers lost 91-60.

Tommy Thomas was responsible for half of Pratt's points, scoring 30 on 11-24 shooting, including 7-12 from three-point range. Thomas also had a team-high nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal. Julian Eziukwu finished his night in double-figures as well, managing 13 points on an efficient 5-6 shooting. Eziukwu also snatched eight rebounds.

Pratt found tough sledding on offense against a rangy Grizzlies team, as the Beavers shot only 32% from the field (22-69), and were on the same parallel from long range, making only eight of 26 attempts beyond the arc. In spite of the rebounding margin favoring the Beavers, including on the offensive end where the Beavers totaled 14 offensive rebounds to the Grizzlies 5, Pratt failed to capitalize on ample second-chance opportunities.

The Grizzlies were simply the more efficient team when in possession, shooting 52% from the field and 54% from deep.

The Beavers will travel to Concoria on Wednesday, February 10 to play the Thunderbirds of Cloud County. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
