Beavers shooting struggles continue in loss at Cloud County

CONCORDIA, Kan.- The Beavers offensive struggles maintained in Wednesday's loss to Cloud County, as Pratt was on the wrong end of a 77-61 score.

Tommy Thomas led Pratt with 14 points, as Thomas was 4-12 from the field, but an efficient 3-6 from three-point range. Thomas also had six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Malcolm Whitlow and Eric Rhymes both finished their respective evenings with 10 points. In spite of dominating the offensive glass, the Beavers were reluctant to captialize on second-chance points, as Pratt managed to shoot only 32% (22-69) and 29% from three-point range (6-21). 

Wednesday marked the fourth occasion in the first five games where Pratt was unable to eclipse the 40% threshold from the field. 

Trailing only 24-19 after the first 15 minutes of play, the Thunderbirds closed the first-half with a 9-0 run to take a 33-19 lead into the break. The second-half saw the Beavers unable to close the gap in any significant way, as the team was only 14-40 in its shot attempts over the final 20 minutes. 

Next for the Beavers is a matchup with Independence, scheduled for Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
