Men's Team Ready to Battle T-Birds

Pratt, Kan. – The Beavers will get back to conference play this weekend by traveling to Cloud County on Saturday.

On The Air

Saturday's game can be heard on KMMM 1290 with Austin McNorton calling the action. McNorton is in his first year as voice of the Beavers. The game will be streamed on cloudtbirds.com.

Last Time Out

On Wednesday night the Beavers completed a two-game series with Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in the Beaver Dome. After a back and forth start to the game it was tied 45-45 at half. The Beavers came out in the second half and continued to fight and picked up the W 87-82. Freshman Cam Morris and sophomore Tommy Thomas both had 15 points in the game.

Scouting the T-Birds

The T-Birds come into this afternoon's game with a 5-5 overall and 1-3 conference record. All five of their wins have come at home. They picked up their only conference win against Indy on November 23rd 66-59 and most recently lost on Wednesday night at Seward County 62-56.

Cloud County averages 69.8 points, 40.8 rebounds, and 12.7 assists per game. Freshman guard Joe Kearney and freshman forward Justin Graham are the only two players who average over 10 points a game. Kearney averages 11.3 points and Graham averages 10.4 points. Freshman guard Corey Sawyer Jr. is currently the boards leader with 5.9 rebounds a game. Graham also averages 5.8 rebounds a game.

Last Season vs. T-Birds

Last season the Beavers only faced Cloud County once on the road and lost 77-61.

Rhymes Gets His Double-Double

Redshirt sophomore guard Eric Rhymes has been on a quest during this early part of the season to get a double-double. Rhymes has come close on more than one occasion, but finally on Wednesday night he accomplished his goal with 12 points and 10 assists. On the season, Rhymes averages 7.3 points and 5.2 assists a game.

0-4 on the Road This Season

The Beavers have not won on the road this season and are currently 0-4 for the season. They have lost all three of their conference games on the road thus far. Saturday afternoon will present another opportunity for the Beavers to pick up their first road win.

The Beavers will return home for a final's week matchup against the Trojans of Colby Community College. Game is scheduled for 7:30 pm on December 8th.
