Beavers Knock Trojans Off the Mountain

Pratt, Kan. - The Beaver Dome was rocking last night as the #9 ranked Trojans of Colby Community College (CCC) were in town. The Beavers coming off a heartbreaking loss at Cloud County and three conference losses on the road were hungry to set the ship right. The Beavers did not waste time getting the game moving and lead at halftime 44-32. The second half, was more of the same, but the Trojans never went away and brought the game within five serval times. After a late double technical foul call against the head coach of the Trojans Frehman Cam Morris went 5-6 from the free throw line and gave the Beavers the lead late. They held on to topple the Trojans 85-71. 

Morris had 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Beavers. He also went 6 of 8 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard AJ Weston had a season high of 14. Freshman guard DJ Bailey came off the bench for the Beavers and scored 9 points and three steals. For the Trojans, sophomore guard Ronald Mitchell had 25 points. 

The Beavers will be back in action Saturday night as they host the Barton Cougars. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
