Beavers Remain Undefeated at Home

Pratt, Kan. - The Beavers did not have long to celebrate their big win on Wednesday night as the Barton Community College (BCC) Cougars were in town yesterday. The Cougars came into the game with a 8-4 record and had been nationally ranked two weeks prior. The Beavers did enter the game having not lost a game in the Beaver Dome thus far this season. The stage was set for a battle in front of a full Beaver Dome. 

The Cougars came out swinging to start the game and lead by 13 points ay the 14:34 mark in the first half. Around that time something clicked for the Beavers as the came roaring back to bring it within 7 points the end the half 41-34. Througout the game the lead changed only two times, but the game was tied a total of four times. The Beavers did not take a true lead until late in the second half with their largest lead being 6 points with 18 seconds left. Pratt scored 41 points in the second half and won the game 75-72. The Beavers out rebounded the Cougars 45-33 and had more points in the paint with 28.

It was a dominant night for several Beavers, but sophomore Nasan Ayala lead the team with 18 points. Continuing his dominance this season, freshman Cam Morris picked up another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. That was not the only double-double of the night as sophomore Harrison Eghan picked up his first of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Redshirt sophomore guard Eric Rhymes added to the fun with 13 points and 6 assists. Finally, the big man sophomore Julian Eziukwu broke through with 9 points and 6 rebounds in the game. For the Cougars, sophomore guard Cougar Downing lead the team with 18 points. Freshman Hannes Saar added 14 points and 4 rebounds. The Cougars only turned the ball over 11 times, but the Beavers capatilized off it with 10 points. 

The Beavers will end their fall semester with a trip to Independence, KS to take on the Indy Pirates. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
