Beavers end Three Game Losing Streak against Pirates

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College (PCC) Beavers came into Saturday afternoon's matchup on a three game losing streak. The Independence Community College (ICC) Pirates entered the game with a two game losing streak. Both teams desperate for a win entered the Beaver Dome for their second matchup of the season. 

The Beavers jumped out to a quick lead and lead by ten points 21-11 with 11:38 left in the first half. At the end of the first half the Beavers lead 43-36. In the second half, Indy pulled with in one 50-51 with 14:21 left in the game. After another Beaver run, the Pirates took the lead 66-64 with 9:06 left. The Beavers took back the lead a few minutes later and and held on to win 87-81.

Sophomore guard Nasan Ayala lead the team with 20 points. Freshman forward Cam Morris picked up yet another double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Rounding out the scoring leaders the Beavers is sophomore Harrison Eghan with 10 points. The Beavers out rebounded the Pirates 34-29. The Beavers did turn the ball over 24 times and gave up 25 points off those turnovers. 

The Beavers travel to Garden City this evening to take on the Broncbusters at 7:30 pm.
