Beavers Comeback to Beat Cloud County 67-64

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College men's basketball team had the past five days off and were primed and ready to host (RV) Cloud County Community College this afternoon, December 3. The T-Birds were sitting third in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference standings and undefeated in conference play. The Beavers on the other hand, had dropped back-to-back conference games at home and were ready to rebound in the right direction. 

It was all T-Birds in the first half as they lead 40-30 going into the locker room at halftime. Quickly to start the second half the Beavers started chipping away at the lead. They brought it to within five points with 17:22 remaining. After a back-and-forth battle for the next six minutes, Pratt pulled this time to within two points with 11:11 to go. Another seven minutes went off the clock as the Beavers were finally able to tie it at 63 all with 4:58 left. The tie would stick for another few minutes before Pratt was able to take a 65-63 lead with 1:29 left. At the 1:08 mark, Cloud County made one out of two free throws to bring it within one. Redshirt sophomore Qai Kellman came in clutch for the Beavers hitting two free throws to make it a three-point game. Pratt won 67-64 and bounced back with their second conference win. 

Quintin Metcalf continued his scoring prowess with 22 points and eight rebounds. Sterling Young finished the game with 12 points while Jaylen Davis finished with 11. Both teams finished with 33 rebounds. Pratt will travel to Colby Community College on Wednesday, December 7. Gametime is set for 7:30 pm.
