Beavers Dominate Northwest Tech in Beaver Dome

On January 23, the Pratt Community College men's basketball team hosted Northwest Tech. The Beavers entered the game on a two-game winning streak while Northwest Tech entered the game on a three-game losing streak. Both teams met back on November 19 when the Mavericks won 82-81.  

The first ten minutes of play were extremely competitive on both sides with two ties. At the 8:20 mark, Pratt had managed to build a 23-17 lead. A little over a minute later, Northwest Tech tied the game back up. At the 3:17 mark Pratt had built an 11-point lead 36-35. The Beavers lead 39-31 at half. In the second half, Pratt outscored the Mavericks 54-41 and lead by 20 at the 12:24 mark of the second half. Northwest Tech was never able to close the gap with a booming Beaver Dome. The Beavers rolled to a 93-72 win.  

Jaylen Davis lead the team with 27 points. Sterling Young finished the game with a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists. Chidiebere Obichere finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Quintin Metcalf had 16 points while Aviel Palmer came off the bench with 15 points. The Beavers outrebounded Northwest Tech by 10 38-28 and shot 60% from the field.  

Pratt has a tough three-game road stretch ahead. It will start on Wednesday, January 25 at Hutchinson Community College. Tip is set for 7:30 pm.
