Beaver Men's Basketball Back in the Win Column at Cloud County

After a week off coming off their loss at Butler on January 28 the Beaver men's basketball team looked to get back in the win column. They traveled to Cloud County today, February 4 to take on the T-Birds which entered the game on a three-game losing streak. Both teams meet back on December 3 with Pratt taking game one 67-64 in the Beaver Dome.  

In the first ten minutes of play there were seven lead changes and three ties. Pratt managed to pull ahead 19-13 with 8:04 left to go in the half. The Beavers maintained that lead and grew it to a 37-22 lead at halftime. Pratt led the game through the first nine minutes of the second half as Cloud County pulled within 7 points 52-45 with 11:02 left. A few minutes later, the Beavers got back their large score margin. 

It continued that way until the 2:22 mark of the game when Cloud County cut the deficit to four 65-61. Pratt would add their last two points of the game twenty seconds later. Cloud County made a three-point basket with 1:50 left to cut it to 67-64. Cloud County missed five shots in the last 1:33 of play to lose to the Beavers 67-64.  

Sterling Young continued his dominance in points scored with 23 points and nine rebounds. Chidiebere Obichere had 11 points in the game while Quintin Metcalf finished with 10 points. The Beavers did manage to outrebound the T-Birds 41 to 34. Pratt turned the ball over 20 times in the game but still maintained a large lead throughout.  

After being on the road for the past two weeks the Beavers get to return home and face Colby on Wednesday, February 8. The tip is set for 7:30 pm.
