The Beaver men's basketball team traveled to Independence Community College on February 15 to face the Indy Pirates. Both teams entered the contest coming off losses in their previous matchups. Pratt took game one of the series back on December 12 71-70.  

In the first ten minutes of play there were eight lead changes as Pratt held a one-point advantage 21-20 with 10:10 left to go in the half. In the last ten minutes of play there were six lead changes and four ties as Indy took a narrow 41-38 lead into the locker room at halftime. The second half started in much the same way as the first; however, Pratt managed to grow a nine-point lead 59-50 by the 13:52 mark of the second half. The Beavers never gave the lead back to Indy as they pulled within one point with 8:26 left in the game. In addition, the Pirates pulled within two points several times throughout the second half but could never take back the lead. Pratt rolled to a 91-86 victory.  

Sterling Young led the way with 32 points and seven assists. Chidiebere Obichere finished with a double double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Quintin Metcalf had 10 points in the game. Pratt got outrebounded by three and turned the ball over 18 times throughout the game. They shot 56.1 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point arc.  

Pratt will host Garden City on Saturday, February 18. Tip is set for 4:00 pm. Be sure to wear pink to support the Pink Out game.
