Men's Basketball Ready for 2022-23 Season

Pratt, Kan. – Pratt Community College and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Kenny Eddy are excited to announce the 2022-23 men’s basketball schedule. The Beavers will play five non-conference games including a trip to the New Mexico JC Classic in Hobbs, NM.

“We wanted to be able to take the guys on the road somewhere outside of Kansas and be able to play some high-level games,” said Coach Eddy. “We are getting three games in three days and it will be a good test for our guys and will provide us an opportunity to reevaluate where we are before conference play begins.”

Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play begins at home against Seward County Community College on November 16. Prior to the Beavers will travel to two preseason jamborees taking place in Wichita, KS and Hutchinson, KS.

Last season, the Beavers finished 15-17 overall and 9-15 in conference plau. The team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region VI tournament before losing to Hutchinson Community College 110-82 to end their season.

“We have a group this season who really likes to be together both on and off the court. They enjoy being around each other which I believe will help us in the long run,” said Coach Eddy. “We have two veteran points guards in DJ Bailey and Qai Kellman and we like their experience and leadership. We have a ton of young wings and a couple experienced ones at the same time, but we tried to add length to that position. We have Aviel Palmer and Quintin Metcalf returning in the front court. We have a good mix of experienced and young players and we like how it is shaping up right now.
