Pratt Knocks Off #19 Ranked Butler

The Pratt Community College men's basketball team emerged victorious with a final score of 94-89 against the No. 19 ranked Butler Grizzlies on Wednesday, Feb. 28. The game was closely contested throughout, with Pratt holding a slim two-point lead at halftime and managing to maintain their advantage until the final buzzer outscoring the Grizzlies 54-51 in the second half. 

Pratt's Caleb Smith and Davonte "Bubba" Russ led the way for their team, scoring 18 and 22 points, respectively. Smith also contributed six assists and four steals, while Russ added eight rebounds to his stat line. Jarrett Dingle and Justin Robinson also made significant contributions off the bench, scoring 8 and 14 points, respectively. Finally for the Beavers, Kayvontay Williams contributed 26 minutes for 13 points and six rebounds.  

The Beavers had a strong showing on the offensive end, with Pratt shooting 50.0% from the field and 65.8% from the free throw line. In addition, the Beavers had 46 points in the paint, 20 points off turnovers, and 30 points from their bench that contributed to the victory.  

The Beavers will host Northwest Tech on Saturday, Mar. 2 for sophomore day. The sophomore day celebration will take place before the tip of the men's game. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start time.
