Pratt Wins 2 before the Break

Pratt, Kan. - Beavers Win! Beavers Win! The Men's Basketball Program went 2-0 this past week!

On Wednesday, December 11, Pratt played host to Fort Hays Tech Northwest (2-9, 1-7) and came away with a 90-83 victory. The Beavers (8-5, 4-3) were led by Hunter Vaughn's 20 point, 10 assist double-double. Khasen Robinson added an impressive 25 points while being perfect from 3pt range (3-3) and the free throw line (6-6). The guard duo has been spectacular this season and continues to leave Beaver fans satisfied. Forward Joseph Opareke added a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double of his own.

On Saturday, December 14, Colby Community College (8-6, 3-5) came to town just to be sent home disappointed by their 89-88 defeat. Once again, Hunter Vaughn led the way with 24 points while nailing 6 shots from 3pt range. Vaughn was one of five Beavers to score in double figures. Jarett Dingle had 18 points, including 13 from the free throw line, Ajiet Akot had a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, Joseph Opareke notched his 3rd straight double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, but it was Parker Whisenhunt who provided a major spark for the Beavers down the Stretch. Whisenhunt had back-to-back fastbreak dunks in the second half as Pratt was able to survive in our home arena. It was a full team effort from this tight-knit bunch.

These wins marked Coach Kenny Eddy's 49th and 50th win at the helm of Pratt Community College.

The Team will get a well-deserved break from action to celebrate the holidays with their families. Men's Basketball will return to action on January 4, 2025 as they take on Independence Community College!
