Pratt, Kan. - On Saturday, February 1, the Pratt Community College men's basketball team played a very complete game and was able to halt a mid-season skid with a win against Seward County Community College. The Beavers, who have been decimated with injuries managed a 65-52 win with only 6 players available.
Coaches Eddy and McBride raved about their teams 1st half defensive efforts. They limited Seward to 17 points while shooting 25% or below from the field, 3pt range, and from the free throw line. It was a great team effort on that end of the floor. The Saints finised the game shooting 34.5% from the floor.
The Beavers took care of business on the offensive end of the floor as well! All 5 starters scored in double figures, with Hunter Vaughn leading the way at 15 points. Joseph Opareke and Parker Whisenhunt put in the two strongest rebounding efforts with 7 and 8 rebounds respectively.
The Beavers will need more efforts like this as they look to finish strong in their remaining conference schedule.
