Beaver Track and Field Competed at NJCAA Region VI Meet

The Beaver track and field program competed at the NJCAA Region VI Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend May 5-6 at Coffeyville. Pratt added another national qualifier to the list this time for the 4x100M relay team consisting of Delazis Smith, Joseph Michel, Zavier Wilson, and Tyler Sonnier. They finished with a time of 41.39. On the women's side Jamaira Ross finished runner-up in the 3000M Stepple with a time of 11:57.25. This broke a twenty-year-old school record as well as moved Ross into 9th spot in the nation in this event.  

The men's team finished 10th overall in the NJCAA Region VI standings and 6th place in the KJCCC West standings. Both were substantial improvements from the previous year. The team had 11 all-region performers with 20 all-KJCCC west performers.  

The women's team finished in 13th place overall in the NJCAA Region VI standings while the team scored 28 points in the KJCCC West standings. That is a 28-point improvement from last year's team. The team had three all-region performers with five all-KJCCC west performers. 

The track and field team will prepare to compete at the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 18-20 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
