Lady Beavers earn third-straight conference win with victory over Coffeyville

To continue their undefeated streak in the KJCCC, the Pratt Community College women's basketball team rolled over Coffeyville Community College to gather their third win in conference. A final score of 74-54 gave the Lady Beavers their largest win over a conference opponent in the current 2018-19 season. A 20-point margin of victory earned the blue and white their ninth win in 10 games.

Pratt's leading scorer, Rylee Alexander continued to pose a threat from the 3-point arc in the contest against the Red Ravens. The first-year Beaver made an impact with her long-range shooting by splashing 6-of-8 attempts from deep. She totaled a 75 percent field goal percentage from the field after knocking in two more shots up close to shoot 8-of-12 for the evening. Alexander led all scorers once again with 23 points.

Many of the wide open shots that Alexander and several other teammates converted on came from PCC's starting point guard Dymond McElrath. Finishing the day with not a single turnover in 36 minutes of play, McElrath dished out seven assists which was a game high.

An unanswered 13-0 run from PCC in just the first five minute of the game set the precedence for the entire competition. They kept the Ravens to only nine points in the first quarter. Pratt held the lead for all 40 minutes and never gave up their advantage for even a single lead change.

PCC women's basketball will look to add to their hot streak in conference when they travel to take on Independence Community College on Dec. 12. The contest will tip off at 6 p.m.
