WBB unable to make late dash against Coffeyville in 65-57 loss

COFFEYVILLE, Kan.- In its foray into conference play, Pratt's women's basketball program was unable to replicate its debut performance, losing 65-57 on the road at Coffeyville.

Jada Moss led the Beavers in scoring with 12 points, though it was a difficult afternoon from the field for the Wisconsinite, connecting on only three of her 16 attemptsd. Moss did manage her first career double-double with the aid of 10 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive end of the floor.

Cassie Onwugbfor posted double-figures in points for the second-consecutive game, recording 11 points on 4-15 shooting. The freshman also had four rebounds. Jordan Mathis, as she usually does, did a little bit of everything for the Beavers. The sophomore leader scored nine points, had six rebounds, as well as an assist and a block.

The Beavers were taxed on by the Coffeyville defense, which forced the Beavers into a 26% shooting afternoon (18-69), and were less efficient from three-point range, making only four of 26 tries (15%). Coach Kenner's team also lost the turnover battle, surrendering 18 giveaways compared to the Red Ravens' 11.

Women's basketball will return on Wednesday, when the group travels to Neosho County for a 5:30 pm tip-off.
