Last Time Out
The Beavers took on Conquistadors from Dodge City Community College this past Thursday night with only six active and healthy players. The Beavers took an early lead in the game, but Dodge City came back to win the first quarter 20-13. The Conquistadors pulled away in the second quarter and held the lead the remainder of the way. The Beavers did fight back and won the third quarter 19-16, but ended up losing the game 84-49. Sophomore Chariah Daniels lead the team with her first double-double of 2022 with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers enter tonight's game with a 9-5 overall record and 5-4 in conference play. Cowley has only lost one game at home coming back in November against Coffeyville 69-62. They started 2022 off with a win against Colby 65-58. They did not play this past Wednesday against Cloud County due to COVID-19 protocols.
As a team they average 67.4 points, 34.2 rebounds, and 13.4 assists. Sophomore guard Baylee Fincher leads the team with an average of 15.7 points a game. In addition, sophomore forward Martyna Kowalska also averages 15.4 points a game. Rounding out the points leaders is freshman forward Carson Dean who averages 10.1 points a game. Kowalska leads the team in boards with 9.9 a game.
Last Season vs. Tigers
The Beavers faced the Tigers once last season at home and lost 81-66.
Back at Full Strength
Freshman Ruth Sodipe and sophomore Christy Wiebe are both cleared from COVID-19 protocols and will be in the lineup tonight for the Beavers. Sodipe averaged 8.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 2021. Wiebe ended the previous year on a high note scoring 19 points against the Pirates of Indy. She averages 9.3 points and 4.2 rebounds a game for the Beavers.
Hendrickson Shines in First Appearance
Freshman Grace Hendrickson suited up in her first game for the Beavers on Wednesday night. Against the Conquistadors she shot 4-12 from the 3-point arc with 12 points and 3 rebounds. Playing volleyball in her first semester at Pratt, Hendrickson will bring some much-needed depth to the Beavers.

The Beavers will quickly turn things around as they will face Seward County on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at home. Game time is set for 5:30 pm on January 17th.
