Beavers Struggle On The Road Against Barton

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College Beavers traveled to Great Bend earlier this afternoon, December 10 to take on the (RV) Barton Community College Cougars. The Beavers entered the game having won their third conference game against Colby on Wednesday, December 7. The Cougars won on the road at Cloud County on Wednesday night as well.  

The Beavers struck first in the game with the first three minutes of the game being scoreless. Barton quickly tied the game up and then went on a 10-0 run before the Beavers could score again. The Beavers would go on a run of their own to end the first quarter down 12-10. It was all Barton for the rest of the game as the Beavers scored 12 points in the second quarter and were down 38-22 at the half. In the second half, Barton rolled to a 84-44 victory with the Beavers only able to score 11 points in both the third and fourth quarters.  

Princess Anderson finished the game with 20 points and six rebounds. Pratt shot 30.8% from the field, 33.3% from the three-point arc, and 61.5% from the free throw line. Barton outrebounded the Beavers 49 to 28.  

Pratt will host Independence Community College to end their fall semester on Monday, December 12. Gametime is set for 5:30 pm in the Beaver Dome.
