Beavers Lose on Road at Cloud County

The Beaver women's basketball team finished a two-week stint of road games today, February 4 at Cloud County. Pratt has been struggling lately and entered the game on a six-game losing streak. On the other side, Cloud dropped their game on February 1 at Seward County. Both teams played back on December 3 when the Beavers defeated Cloud 87-74 in the Beaver Dome.

The game started slowly for both teams as it remained scoreless for the first three minutes of the game. The Beavers first points on the board came at the 5:42 mark of the first quarter. Pratt would not score again until the 9:25 mark of the second quarter. After one quarter of play, Cloud County lead 17-2. After scoring early in the quarter the Beavers went on another slump, not scoring until the 3:55 mark of the second quarter. The Beavers finally got rolling in the final minutes of the quarter and were down at half 36-17. The third quarter was evenly matched as both teams scored twenty points, but Pratt could not pull any closer now down 56-37 at the end of three quarters. The T-Birds rolled to a 84-59 win to tie the season series.

Princess Anderson led the team with 21 points while Isis Sanders added 17 points and 12 rebounds. Cloud County dominated the Beavers on the glass outrebounding them 58-37 as Pratt continued to improve in turnovers with only 12.
