The Beaver women's basketball team hosted Garden City on Saturday, February 18. Both teams entered the matchup with a losing streak and looking for a key conference win. Both teams meet back on January 4 in Garden City with Pratt taking game one 65-58.
Garden City started the game on a 11-4 run heading into the media timeout of the first quarter. Pratt cut the game to five points 15-10 with 1:15 left in the quarter. Garden City would finish the quarter scoring four points to lead after one quarter 20-13. Garden City outscored the Beavers 18-15 and lead 29-19 with 3:22 remaining until halftime. The Broncbusters went to the locker room at half leading 38-28. By the end of the third quarter, Pratt had cut the Broncbuster lead to six 55-41. In the final quarter of play, Garden City outscored the Beavers 21-11 to roll to a 76-52 win.
Princess Anderson led the team with 16 points. Isis Sanders finished the game with 10 points. Garden City scored 23 points off the Beavers 17 turnovers. 24 of the Beavers points came off their bench.
Pratt will head back to Montgomery County this coming Wednesday, February 22 to take on Coffeyville. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
