
Pratt, Kan. - In a contested game, Pratt Community College defeated Lamar Community College with a final score of 74-72 on a late two-point bucket on Tuesday, Nov. 25 to cap off their non-conference schedule for the season. The Beavers also split with the Lopes of Lamar Community College as Pratt lost on the road 75-59 to the Lopes back on November 16.
The Beavers were led by La'Kyra Johnson, who scored 27 points in the game while Kalani Brock also had a solid game, scoring 15 points. Freshman MaKiya Humphrey finished the game with 12 points and led the team with nine rebounds.
On the other side, Lamar was led by Cipriana Garcia who led the team with 14 points coming off the bench. Both teams had similar shooting percentages, with Pratt shooting 40.6% from the field and the Lopes shooting 40.0%. However, the Beavers free throw shooting proved to be a difference-maker, with an impressive 84.6% conversion rate compared to Lamar's 58.3%.
Pratt will head out to Liberal, Kan. on Saturday, Nov. 30 for their next conference matchup against the Seward County Community College Saints. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. in the Greenhouse.
