PCC women's soccer falls to Garden City on the road

The Pratt Community College women's soccer team traveled to play against conference opponent Garden City Community College. The Beavers came in to the contest on a 2 game winning streak. Ultimately Garden City defeated Pratt 2-0.

A lack of shots on goal plagued the Beavers during the game. Garden City also failed to put up shot attempts but took better advantage of the few that came their way. Garden scored the only goal of the game during the 40th minute of the first half. Goalkeeper Haven Johannsen stopped all other shots on target, but Pratt lost their clean sheet after a ground ball rolled past Johannsen and the Beaver back line late in the first period.

Pratt put themselves in scoring position a few times in the match but did not take advantage of the opportunities. Forward Kenyonique Thompson made a break away run late in the second period but could not manage to put the ball past the keeper. Thompson had all 3 of the Beavers' shots on goal during the contest.

PCC women's soccer returns to the pitch against Dodge City Community College on Sep. 10. First touch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
