Women's soccer comes up short on the road against Barton County

The Pratt Community College women's soccer team returned to traveling on the road for a single away game against Barton County Community College. PCC came in to the contest looking to build off their first conference win of the season. The Beavers fell short of their goal as Barton County took a 13-0 victory.

Offensively for the Beavers, midfielder Isabella Battaglia led the way with two shots on frame. Forwards Kori Staley and Cala Jamison also contributed to the offensive effort with a shot each.

Freshman Maria Camacho took on the task of defending the goal. The Spanish native managed to save nine of the 22 shots on target that she faced.

A combined effort of PCC's total shots and Camacho's near double digit saves were not enough to keep Barton County at bay. Pratt only allowed three goals in the first half, but a change of goals did not help the Beavers score points. Barton County was able to score 10 goals in the second period for a final score of 13-0.

Pratt now holds an overall record of 3-5. They will look to edge toward getting back to .500 with a slew of conference games ahead of them.

PCC women's soccer will return home for a matchup against Hutchinson Community College on Sept. 20. The two teams will begin competition at 3 p.m.
