Single goal keeps Pratt from victory in conference rematch

After a 2-game home stand the Pratt Community College women's soccer team took on Dodge City Community College on the road for the second time this season. A defensive-minded contest resulted in a low-scoring game across the board. Dodge City managed to pull away from Pratt for a final score of 1-0.

Pratt was led offensively with two shots each from midfielder Isabella Battaglia and forward Quemberli Merida. Midfielder Ariana Temblador also contributed with a single shot on goal.

The Beavers were kept in game by goalkeeper Haven Johannsen. The freshman came up with 11 saves while facing 12 shots. Dodge City scored their first and only goal in the eighth minute of the first half. The single score in the game ultimately led to the Beavers' defeat.

PCC women's soccer will continue to compete in conference play on Oct. 3. The Beavers will go toe-to-toe with Garden City Community College yet again. Home fans can see Pratt in action starting at 2 p.m.
