Pratt Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Thomas Gaskell as the next Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Coach Gaskell comes to Beaver Nation, having led the Hesston College women’s soccer program since May 2021. This past season, he served as the Interim Head Men’s Soccer Coach. During his time at Hesston, he recruited the largest women's roster in program history while maintaining a team GPA of 3.4. During his time at the helm of the men’s program the team achieved the first winning record in over 30 years 8-7-1.  

“We are thrilled to add someone of the caliber of Thomas Gaskell to our coaching staff. The fact Thomas has coached in the league and shown he can successfully recruit will be positive factors for our women’s soccer program,” said Athletic Director Tim Swartzendruber. “Thomas has a passion for coaching and is committed to building strong relationships with his players. He will be a great fit for Pratt Community College.” 

Before his time at Hesston College, Coach Gaskell was the Head Soccer Coach at Wichita South High School from July 2020-May 2021. He served as the Assistant Men’s/Women’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater Tabor College starting in August 2018. Before that, he was Assistant Men’s/Women’s Soccer Coach at Coffeyville Community College. Coach Gaskell first coaching job was at Wichita Independent High School where he served as Assistant Soccer Coach from August 2017-January 2018.  

“I am really excited to be here at Pratt and continue the good work Coach Cordeiro has been doing. I am thankful to the search committee and Tim for placing their trust in me to take the soccer program forward,” said Coach Gaskell. “I am especially excited for the fall and looking forward to building on last season’s success!” 

Coach Gaskell is from the United Kingdom and played collegiate soccer at Independence Community College and then at Tabor College. He lives in Wichita with his wife Mallory, daughter Imogen and son Declan.
