Pratt Athletics Announces Hiring of Evan Camperell as Head Women's Soccer Coach

Pratt Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Evan Camperell as the next head women's soccer coach. Coach Camperell has served as a head soccer coach within the JUCO, NAIA, NCAA (D3), and NCAA (D2) levels. 

Most recently Coach Camperell served two seasons as the head women's soccer coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State University during 2022 and 2023. OPSU competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. In addition to his coaching duties at OPSU, Camperell also served as a health & physical education faculty member teaching a variety of classes for the university. 

"Coach Camperell brings a wealth of collegiate level soccer knowledge to PCC. He will be a great cultural fit for our student-athletes and PCC Athletics," said athletic director Larry Johnston. "I’m excited to see the direction he takes our women’s soccer program." 

Prior to that Camperell served three seasons as the head men's and women's soccer coach at Paris Junior College located in northeast Texas from 2018 to 2021. Camperell's 2018 PJC men's team qualified for the NJCAA Region 14 tournament reaching the semifinal round in post season play. In addition to his coaching duties at PJC, Camperell also served as a kinesiology faculty member teaching a variety of classes for the college.  

He has made additional coaching stops at Norco College, University of Saint Katherine, Lincoln University, MiraCosta College, Nazarene College, Alliant International University-San Diego, and got his career started at the University of the Southwest.  

"I'm very excited about joining the athletics program at Pratt CC and would like to thank athletic director Larry Johnston for the opportunity to move the program forward," said Coach Camperell.  

Camperell earned his associate of arts degree from Palomar Community College, his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Redlands, and his master's degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific University. He also spent time studying within the kinesiology department at San Diego State University. He holds two U.S.S.F. soccer coaching licenses and an APEX Fitness personal trainer certification.
