Beavers lose 3-0 to No. 5 TVCC

VERNON, Texas- The Beavers were unable to overcome the quick logistical turnaround, losing in straight sets for consecutive nights. #5 Trinity Valley Community College (Texas) swept Pratt 25-16, 25-13, and 25-13.

"We were just a little bit overwhelmed," Rambo said. "(Trinity Valley) played really well, and they were just a little bit more refined than we are."

Haylee Parker maintained the momentum from her collegiate debut, adding 12 more digs this afternoon. Olivia Hessman retained a hit rate of 80%, with Chloe Bolt leading the team with two blocks.

As he noticed yesterday, the nerves seemed to strangle a roster comprised mostly of freshmen.

"The youth showed a little bit. We were outmatched in a couple positions, but we played with them for a little while in each set but we made too many errors to win games. We weren't doing the small things right. The big thing is we just made too many errors."

The Beavers have no time to pout however, as they are scheduled for the second game of this afternoon's doubleheader at 3 PM against Lamar Community College (Colo.). Coach Rambo is hoping his team will find a way to pick up their first win of the season. Not trying to do too much, he says, will be the key.

"I want my freshmen to try to relax and remember that it's just a game. It's fun. Don't make it so hard. Just try to relax and play."
