PRATT, Kan.- So far so good for the Beavers, as the volleyball team opened its 2021 season with a 3-1 win over Friends University (JV). 

Kylie Fletcher recorded 30 assists, including a pair of service aces. Kylee Harman patrolled the outside, where she posted 10 kills on 17 attempts (.471) while adding two aces of her own. In her Beaver debut, Yianmarie Catala recorded a team-high nine digs as the libero. 

Another newcomer, Avery Smith, gave the Falcons all they could handle, scoring on 9 of her 19 attacking attempts (.368). Smith also managed a team-high three service aces. A veteran presence for a younger Beavers team, Morgan Schrag did a little bit of everything, notching six kills and was responsible for five blocks. 

The Beavers will return to action on Monday with a full slate of conference matchups on the horizon, starting with Butler County. The match is scheduled for 6:30 PM, and will be live on GoBeaverSports.com
