Karen Adams Named Assistant Volleyball Coach

Pratt Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Karen Adams as the new Assistant Volleyball Coach. Coach Adams came to Beaver Nation a year ago as a math instructor on campus. Before coming to Pratt Community College Adams had over 20 years' experience directing and coaching boys and girls club volleyball teams between Kansas and Florida.  

“I am very excited about adding Karen to the program. She has extensive knowledge and years of coaching experience,” said Head Volleyball Coach Brittany Urenda. “She will help in all aspects of the program. I cannot wait to get started and see where we can take the program together.” 

Coach Adams was the Head Volleyball Coach at Oakland City University for two seasons and took the team to regionals one season and the NCCAA (Christian NCAA) nationals the other. She was the Varsity Volleyball Coach for seven seasons at Spanish River High School in Florida for both girls and boys. Other coaching experience includes one year as a Student Assistant Coach at Southwestern College, one year as a volunteer coach at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL and one year as Assistant Coach at Garden City Community College.

I appreciate Britt giving me the opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to help in the sport that I have always been so passionate about,” said Coach Adams. “Being an instructor at PCC has been a blessing to my life and I count this opportunity as another wonderful blessing" 

Adams played volleyball for one season at Garden City Community College before transferring to Southwestern College for her final three seasons. In addition, she holds a USAVB Cap II Level Certification.
