The Pratt Community College volleyball team defeated Seward County Community College 3-1 to end the conference-losing streak dating back to October 9, 2021. It is the first time since 2020 that the Beavers have won a conference game in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena. In addition, the Beavers had not defeated the Saints of Seward County since 2015.
The Beavers started the match winning the first two sets 25-21 and 25-22, before falling short in the third set 22-25. Pratt quickly got their momentum back and won in the fourth set 25-17 to take the win.
Pratt's Rylie Hallman played a key role in the team's victory with 38 assists, while Natalie Martinez had an impressive 23 digs. Sophomore Sara Castrillon Vare lead the team with 13 kills while Baylee Brin added 10 kills.
The team will host Hutchinson Community College on Wednesday, Sep. 25 in the Beaver Dome at 6:30 pm before traveling to Cloud County Community College on Saturday, Sep. 28 to wrap up the busy week of competition.
