  • PCC softball season ends in the Region VI tournament
    April 30, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball traveled to Garden City, Kan. to compete in the Region VI softball tournament. Beginning on April 27, the Beavers faced Butler Community College and Garden City Community College over the double elimination tournament. Pratt faced off against a hot hitting Butler team that used the long ball to score. PCC loses the first game to Butler 1-9. The Blue and White took an early lead in the second inning against Garden City CC. A big inning for Garden City in the fourth gave them the runs to secure the win. PCC falls 5-13 to Garden City.
  • PCC softball ends the 2018 regular season on the road against Colby CC
    April 25, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball closed out the regular season with a road double header against Colby Community College. The Beavers ran into the high powered offense of Colby that would not be denied. PCC falls in the double header 0-17 in game one and 0-10 in game two.
  • PCC softball splits road double header with Northwest Tech
    April 24, 2018
    After weather moved the double header from this past weekend, Pratt Community College softball and Northwest Kansas Technical College met in Dodge City, Kan. for a KJCCC matchup on April 23. The Beavers were plagued by an offensive drought in game one. Northwest Tech took advantage to secure the win. PCC falls 1-9 in the first game. The Pratt offense woke up in the second game and responded by claiming the lead from the start. Pratt combined for 18 hits in game two to run away with the win. PCC beats Northwest Tech 16-4 to split the double header.
  • PCC softball faces Butler CC on the road

    Pratt Community College softball traveled to El Dorado, Kan. for a double header against Butler Community College. Offensive woes plagued the Beavers in both games against Butler. In game one, Pratt faced a Butler pitcher who struck out many of the batters she faced. The second game saw the Blue and White go against a Butler offense that would not be denied. PCC drops both games in the double header; 0-8 in game one and 1-10 in game two.
  • PCC softball splits double header with Garden City CC

    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field for the final time in the 2018 season for a double header against Garden City Community College. Late game scoring was the key in both games as Garden City used a multi-run fifth inning to take the lead in the first game. Game one goes to Garden City as Pratt falls 3-5. In game two, it was the Beavers who used multiple runs in the sixth inning to solidify their hold on the lead. PCC comes away with the game two win at 7-6 to split the double header.
  • PCC softball faces Seward CC on Sophomore Day
    April 08, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood field for a double header, Sophomore Day matchup with Seward County Community College. The Beavers fell behind early in the first game, but rallied to tie things up at 4-4 in the fifth inning. Seward added runs in the sixth and seventh to take the first game. PCC falls 4-15. Seward came out in the second game to grab an early lead. Pratt tied things up in the second and took the lead in the third. A rally by Seward in the seventh allowed them to steal the lead and the win. PCC drops a heartbreaker 6-14.
  • PCC softball battles Barton CC in Great Bend

    Pratt Community College softball traveled to Great Bend, Kan. for a midweek KJCCC double header against Barton Community College. The Beavers battled in both games, but a pair of high scoring innings by Barton in the first game and in the second game gave the Cougars a lead Pratt could not rally to take. PCC falls in both games, 3-11 in game 1 and 2-17 in game 2.
  • PCC softball faces Colby CC in a double header
    March 28, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field for a double header against Colby Community College. The first game saw Pratt and Colby battle to a 3-3 tie through the first three innings. A big inning by Colby in the fifth allowed them to take control of the game. The Beavers tried to rally in the ninth but the rally fell short. Game 1 goes to Colby as PCC loses 4-12. Game 2 saw Colby get out to an early lead and pushed the lead to 8-1 heading into the fifth inning. The Blue and White rallied in the fifth for three runs to cut the lead to 4-8. Colby’s defense held strong in the sixth and seventh to take the win. PCC falls in the second game 4-10.
  • PCC softball faces road test against Dodge City CC
    March 27, 2018
    On March 26, PCC softball hit the road for a double header with Dodge City CC. Game 1 saw the Blue and White fall behind early as the Dodge City offense capitalized on a big first inning. Pratt cut into the lead with runs in the fourth, but late scoring by Dodge City secured the win. PCC falls 3-11. The second game was a battle between the Beavers and Dodge City. Pratt took an early 2-0 lead in the first, but Dodge City claimed the lead by the third. The Blue and White tied the game at 6-6 in the sixth. With a runner on second in the bottom of the seventh, Dodge City got a walk-off base hit to drive in the winning run. PCC falls in a heartbreaker 7-8.    
  • PCC softball sweeps Friends University JV
    March 24, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball traveled to Wichita, KS for a double header against Friends University JV. The bats came alive for the Beavers to take both games by the scores of 8-7 in game 1 and 18-5 in game 2.
  • PCC softball faces road battle against Garden City CC

    Pratt Community College softball traveled to Garden City Community College for a conference double header. The Beavers battled in both games mounting late rallies against Garden City. The rallies fell short both times as PCC falls 0-2 in the double header.
  • PCC softball wraps up home stand against Butler CC
    March 16, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball closed out their six game home stand with a double header against Butler Community College. Game 1 saw Butler gain an early lead. The pitching and defense of Butler held the Beavers hitless and secured the win. Pratt loses Game 1 0-14. Game 2 turned into a defensive battle. Butler took a slim lead in the first inning. The Blue and White came back in the fourth inning tying the game at 1-1. Runs for Butler in the fifth and seventh innings gave the edge Butler needed to take Game 2. PCC falls 1-3 in Game 2.
  • PCC softball splits double header with Northwest Tech

    Pratt Community College softball hit the mid-point of their six game home stand with a double header against Northwest Tech at Angood Field. The Beavers trailed, but kept things close in Game 1. In the sixth inning, Pratt mounted a three run rally and held on in the seventh for a 7-6 win. Game 2 saw the Blue and White take an early lead. Northwest Tech fought back and used a big inning in the fifth to take the lead. Pratt tried to rally with runners on base, but could not bring them home. PCC falls in Game 2 12-16.
  • PCC softball sweeps NIACC
    March 12, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field for a Sunday double header matchup against North Iowa Area Community College. The Beavers battled NIACC in both games with both teams offenses clashing at the plate in Game 1. Pratt mounted a 10 run rally in the fifth inning and held on for a 16-15 win. Game 2 was the opposite of the first game with team defense and field play taking control. Down to their final two outs and with the bases loaded, Michelle Castillo stepped to the plate for the Blue and White and slapped a shot to the second base side. The fielder had an arrent throw which allowed Castillo to be safe and the Beavers to score on a walkoff bringing the runner from second to home. PCC completes the 2-0 sweep with a 4-3 win in Game 2.

    Pratt Community College softball player Marisa Jonas has been selected as the KJCCC softball player of the week for week three of the season.

    Pratt Community College softball hit the midpoint of their six game weekend. The Beavers traveled to NOC-Enid for a double header against the Jets. Pratt ran into a hard hitting NOC-Enid team that could not be matched. PCC drops two games going 0-2 in the double header.

    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field after a week on the road. The Beavers hosted Barton Community College in a conference double header. Pratt ran into a hard hitting Barton team that commanded both games from the plate. PCC drops both games of the double header going 0-2 on the day.

    Pratt Community College softball concluded their four game road trip in Liberal, Kan. with a double header against Seward County Community College. The Beavers ran into the high powered offense of Seward County and could not match the scoring onslaught of Seward. PCC gets swept by Seward CC 0-2 in the double header.

    The Pratt Community College softball team hit the road for Midwest City, OK and a double header against Rose State College. Pratt ran into a heavy hitting Rose State team that was hot at the plate for both games of the double header. PCC falls in both games going 0-2 for the double header.
  • PCC softball begins conference play against Dodge City CC

    Conference play began for Pratt Community College softball with a double header against Dodge City Community College. The Beavers and the Conqs offenses went to work early in the double header scoring in bursts throughout both games. In the end, Dodge City used two such scoring spurts to take both double header games. PCC falls 0-2 to Dodge City.

    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field to face Friends University JV in a double header on Feb. 15. The Beavers and Falcons battled it out for a 1-1 split of the double header.
  • PCC softball splits double header with Bethany College JV
    February 08, 2018
    Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field to host Bethany College JV on a frigid February afternoon on the seventh. The Beaver bats were cold in the first game of the double header, but came alive in the second game for a thrilling end. Marisa Jonas came through with a double in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walk-off win. PCC splits the double header going one and one against Bethany.

    Beaver Softball is preparing to welcome an exciting group of new student athletes this fall semester. The class projects to be the most complete in recent years and addresses areas of need offensively, defensively, and in overall athleticism. Coach Jenkins and his staff will be looking to successfully mesh this talented group with a sophomore class that gained valuable experience last season.
  • Five Beavers garner NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete Status

    The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has named 5 PCC softball players as All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2016-2017 school year. These student athletes were awarded based on their combined consecutive GPA’s for the fall of 2016 and the spring of 2017.
